The use of dental braces requires some care with food. Thus, we give you some tips on foods to avoid during your braces.
- Avoid hard foods or foods with seeds, such as popcorn, olives, bread with a harder crust, and avoid biting candies, cornbread and dried fruits;
- Avoid jelly foods – such as gum or chewing gum – because they can curl up on the pieces and when trying to clean them, they can dislodge something from its place;
- Cut food and chew it slowly and in small portions. the less amount of food you have in your mouth, the better you control where it hits;
- Prefer soft foods.
